Indonesia Cars Sales 2008

Toyota continues to lead the automotive industry in Indonesia with sales of 211,909 units or 35% of the market. Mitsubishi is the second with sales of 87,524 units or 14.4% of the market. Followed by Daihatsu 78,041 units (13%), Suzuki 73,066 units (12%), Honda 52,500 units (8.6%), Nissan 31,881 units (5.2%), Isuzu 25,325 units (4.2%) Hino 14,227 units (2.3%). Finally, some 20 brands sharing the total sales of 33,297 units (5.5%).

Almost all brands have experienced a significant increase in turnover in 2007. As Toyota has benefited from an increase up to 41% of sales in 2007 of 150,631 units. Even sales of Daihatsu has increased to 50% of its sales to 51,597 units in 2007, dethroning Suzuki from the top 3 positions in the Indonesian automotive industry.

But what about sales in 2009?
